Giacomo Puccini’s Madama Butterfly is one of the most acclaimed and frequently performed operas internationally. Few operas in the regular repertoire move and surprise the audience like this masterpiece from the early 20th century (1904). Based on the theater drama by David Belasco, it's wonderful orchestration and melodic inspiration, realistic and simultaneously exotic and extremely passionate, they have made it one of the most tragic and at the same time most penetrating and emotional stories of all time.
